Employer-based Insurance is the largest form of coverage, Medicaid being the second largest. Around 7 million people gained health insurance through their employers between 2013 and 2017. Now these employees are focused on the high cost of medical care, including:

  • Drug prices
  • Deductibles
  • Premiums
  • Surprise medical bills

Drew Altman, CEO of Kaiser Family Foundation, suggests that the 2020 presidential candidates focus on ways to help the average American cover the rising cost of healthcare.
